5 months!

Savannah officially turned 5 months old on Friday! She is weighing in the neighborhood of 16.5 lbs. and is probably about 25-26" long (measuring a baby isn't quite as easy as it seems). She is FINALLY giggling! No actual laugh yet but we're thrilled to hear something, all of our silly faces, sounds and dances seem to be working.

Unfortunately she still isn't sleeping through the night and I don't think we're even close. Some nights are better than others though, about a week ago she went down at 8:00 and didn't wake up again until 3:00, she nursed and went right back to sleep until 7:30. Technically speaking that IS sleeping through the night but I'm not counting it until I need my alarm clock to wake up. We do think she is teething though (major drool, gnawing on everything, etc.) which could easily be the problem and all the sleep gurus with their books and tricks can't do anything about teething. If this isn't teething, God help us.

Everyone always remarks that she is the happiest, most content baby - either we're doing something right or we just got lucky, I'll just assume that it's our doing. :) She really is the sweetest thing, her little smile just melts my heart and it's impossible to look at her chubby little cheeks and not smother them with kisses.

Yes, she really did drool all over the turkey...good thing no one knew until now. :)

We are so very blessed and have so many things and people to be thankful for today and everday, but I am most thankful for...

* My beautiful, precious daughter that never fails to bring a smile to my face (even after a night of very little sleep). When I think there's no possible way I could love her more, I realize that I can.
* My wonderful husband that takes care of pretty much everything at home so that I can snuggle Savannah from the moment I get home from work until the moment she goes to sleep.
* Our immediate and extended families for always being so supportive and always ready to help out in any situation.
* Our wonderful friends for always being there for us whether we need a hug or a good laugh.

Yum, toes!

Tonight we discovered that toes are yummy! We've been wondering how long it would take her to put them in her mouth, looks like we have our answer.

When I started taking this video I thought she was going to eat her toes but she got a little sidetracked and became more interested in my hand.

Savannah learned this week that she can squeal, we tried to warn her that she was going to lose her voice but apparently she didn't listen. She has very mixed emotions about it as you'll see in the video.

Exersaucer, part 2

I'm continually amazed at how quickly she learns things! A couple weeks ago she could barely reach the toys, now she knows how to make them work and can spin completely around!

Halloween and FL/GA

Savannah spent the morning and afternoon of her first Halloween at her first ever Cocktail Party (aka FL/GA tailgate)! It was really funny to me that people asked how old she was and followed it up with asking if it was her first FL/GA. You'd think that since it only happens once a year it would be obvious, I think I might be expecting too much out of drunks.

Clearly all the tailgating wore her out!

After all the excitement of tailgating it was time to put on her costume, pose for a few dozen pictures and hand out candy to the neighbors!

Is this not the cutest little lion you've ever seen?

Pumpkins are hard to carve! I hope that Savannah doesn't expect us to be able to carve masterpieces.
