This one was just so cute we couldn't resist bringing her home!
The band-aids on her arms are from where she got her vaccines yesterday, poor little thing had to get 2 in each arm! Apparently turning 1 isn't all fun and games. And the nurse said that these four shots sting the most which makes me wonder if she's actually had them as an adult, otherwise how would she know.
James was washing the blankets and pillows that go in the crates, we don't make them sleep on cold, hard plastic.
Just wanted to drop off a few pictures from the weekend...
James said yesterday that he loves the way Savannah wraps her arms and legs around him so tight when he has to go in and comfort her in the middle of the night. This obviously isn't the middle of the night but it looks a little something like this and this is a just a sweet picture.
Little Gator girl with her Gator bow, just think about how cute she'll be with 2 of those bows in her pigtails one day!
She LOVES this toy, she would push it around the house constantly if the walls didn't get in the way.
Look, a new tooth! Now she has 2 on top and 2 on the bottom! And earlier today she leaned in and bit me!
Hanging out at Grandma's today helping to celebrate the big 6-0!
What a fun present!
This post has nothing to do with my sweet child but I'm writing about it anyway.
When it comes to the grocery store, I'm a HUGE dork. When I was on maternity leave the highlight of my Thursday was going to the Publix website and looking at the weekly ad. Now, I have learned about I Heart Publix and can find out what is in the weekly ad on Tuesday night, yay!! Sometimes when I'm at Publix on a Wednesday night and they're setting up for what will be on sale beginning the next day I feel like I'm getting a sneek peak and I get all giddy. I repeat, I am a HUGE dork.
Anyway, last month or so I set a goal to save at least 50% of what I spend through buy 1, get 1 deals, coupons, etc. and I'm proud to say I've met that goal all but once (and that time I only came up a few dollars short). Occasionally, like today, I save more than I spend and I get really excited and feel the need to do something crazy. Like blog about it.
I often have to contain my excitment when I watch the total drop with each coupon that is scanned. And, I'm such a dork that sometimes I actually take pictures of my receipts.
From today - spent $22.89 and saved $28.58
And this, my best Publix trip ever - spent $12.56 and saved $23.62 - consisted mostly of peanut buter. This was probably 6 weeks ago and we still have 6 or so jars of unopened peanut butter. However, the amount of PB we go through in our house borders on disgusting so before long we'll be desperate for another sale.
James very quickly learned that he isn't allowed to start putting the groceries away until I've given him the original price and then the price that I paid on pretty much every single item. How the heck I remember all of the prices is beyond me. I subject him to this all the time even though I'm sure the only things he cares about is that we have food in the house and money in the bank account. Did I mention I'm a HUGE dork?
I'm also on the verge of being a hoarder - we've got 5 tubes of toothpaste, about 12 bottles of salad dressing and I think James has enough deoderant and body wash to last him through the end of the year. I just can't resist those high value coupons and sales. I think I'm a few shopping trips away from needing a 12-step.
Also, HUGE thank you to both my mother-in-law and my mom for giving me the coupons from their Sunday papers that they aren't going to use, without them I wouldn't be on the verge of crazy.
This past weekend we went to visit Savannah's Aunt & Uncle and her cousins, one of which we were meeting for the first time since he was just born on April 26! It's about a 5 hour drive and it rained most of the way there but Savannah did pretty well.
We stopped at Aunt Cassy's house on the way so that she and Savannah could finally meet, we had a great time visiting (unfortunately we didn't get any pictures) and playing with Gavin & Olivia. We left with much more than we came with - a huge bag of cute clothes, shoes, a new toy, a birthday gift and a car seat for Grandma's car! Thankfully we had room for all of it.
Sleeping didn't go so well on the trip, there was a lot of change for Savannah - dropping her morning bottle, sleeping in a pack 'n play in a new place then adding the ear infection, lingering snotty nose and teething into the mix made for a little less sleep for all 3 of us. BUT, we had a great trip regardless and we loved getting to spend time with everyone.
cutest frowny face ever
all smiles again
Sweet Baby Sawyer
Crazy Man Adler
Adler was so excited to push Savannanh in her stroller, he took it very seriously and did a great job!
This is what you get when you try to put a 3 year old, a 1 year old and a 2 month old on a couch for a posed picture...
Hopefully they were actually looking at the other camera for this one and not just at their dads jumping around like fools to try to make them smile.
I just realized I never uploaded pictures from her actual birthday!

First time in her new carseat and facing forward, now she can see where we're going instead of where we've been.

We had Savannah's 1 year check-up yesterday, turns out she got a terrible gift for her birthday - her first ear infection. She went to bed with a fever on Saturday night and woke up with a fever on Sunday, she seemed fine other than that so were hopeful it was just teething, but unfortunately it wasn't. She started amoxicillin yesterday and seems to be feeling better already, since she's sick they couldn't do her vaccinations which I'm sure she didn't mind!
She weighed in at 21 lbs. 3 oz. and is 29.5 inches tall putting her in the 60th percentile for both weight and height.
I don't think I mentioned it, but she started saying 'ma ma' last Friday, it is the sweetest sound I've ever heard. Yesterday on the way home from the doctor she was just about to fall asleep and she was almost whispering it, it was so cute I almost had to pull over and smother her with kisses.
Here are a few more pictures from her birthday party, video and more pictures of her actual birthday coming soon.
